I think this bug can be closed. I'm running Kubuntu 6.06 and XDMCP works fine with KDM. I think this bug only existed in the KDE 3.4.x versions, all 3.5.x KDE versions should fix this problem. -- kdm segfaults when used with xvnc https://launchpad.net/bugs/24149
