[Bug 49950] The error message: "The process for the system protocol died unexpectedly" triggers many problems, when logged in as graphical root in Kubuntu Dapper

Public bug reported:

It's been one week now since I last installed Kubuntu Dapper. I enabled the root account following
the instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RootSudo. Then I logged in as graphical root. And then I found these bugs:

1. Just as the splash screen was displaying "Restoring Session", I got
this error message: "The process for the system protocol died
unexpectedly". If you waited too long before you clicked "OK" on the
error window, the splash screen would finish anyway.

2. Then I ran some apps. But interestingly those apps had no window boundaries around them and the title bar was missing in each of them.
Hence I couldn't minimize, maximize, resize or drag the window. I terminated each app through the Quit command in the menu bar. But
for those without menu bar such as the System Settings window, there's no way to close the app. There was no icon for a running app on the taskbar. In addition, some apps overlapped the
panel just like what System Settings, K3b and Kontact did.

3. Konqueror won't run at all. Its loading icon was on the taskbar, then disappeared and then nothing. I tried many times but it
just won't run.

4. The keyboard won't work.

This is actually the second time I enabled the root account in Kubuntu Dapper in four installs. During the first one, I encountered
and reported bugs #48790 and #48793, which were all confirmed. I was still using Gelex as my id then.

Anyway can you credit the karma points
I earned from confirmed bugs #48790 and #48793 to my new account to get me fired up. Thank you.
