When I try to install libgl1-mesa-dev (which Qt4 needs), it wants to remove libgl1-mesa-glx and install libgl1-mesa. I think this is the root of the problem, not Qt4. -- xorg_1:7.0.22ubuntu7 depends on specific libgl1-mesa https://launchpad.net/bugs/54560
