I have had this problem since upgrading to Dapper. It did not occur in
builds from around March. I was not updating Kubuntu from the period
from there to release.

It only occured in my main account on the machine, so I'm assuming it
may have something to do with the profile and upgrade path.

Deleting my .kde folder seemed to solve the problem. Probably not the
best solution for novice users upgrading, however.
