The drivers seem there (Kubuntu Flight2, the mirror should not matter I'd think) 
 
leo at ubuntu:/etc/network$ find /lib/modules/2.6.15-8-386/ -name "sk98lin*" 
/lib/modules/2.6.15-8-386/kernel/drivers/net/sk98lin 
/lib/modules/2.6.15-8-386/kernel/drivers/net/sk98lin/sk98lin.ko 
 
Have you tried "lsmod |frep sk" ? The module is not loaded at all ?  
If not, you can use modprobe to load it ... (you should not need to of course, 
but just for testing)
