Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/30279 Comment: It's not vital. k3b can easily use cdrecord, which it does without any problems. cdrdao is only needed with certain non-default options. Which is why it's not listed as a dependency - and is optional cdrdao IS listed as a Reccomends though.
