I have the same problem in Kubuntu 6.06 LTS with KDE 3.5.5. I have the
kernel 2.6.15-27-386.
When I insert USB memory stick, then popup appears and when I try to
open it in new window - nothing happens. When I open Konqueror and on
left panel (F9) I take Services, then I see "Kingston", which is name of
my USB memory stick. When I click on it, it says "An unknown error
occured".
But when I use at command line: pmount /dev/sda1 - then it mounts
fluently and mounted device icon will appear also onto desktop. Then I
also can unmount it using right mouse click on this mounted device icon
on the desktop.
I explored my log files and in the attachment are they.
I tried Kingston Data Traveller first and second edition.
