Are you using kcontrol or System Settings (from K-menu)?
Can you attach your /etc/network/interfaces and /var/log/syslog?

Please perform the following and provide output:
sudo ifdown eth0
sudo ifup eth0

(where eth0 is the name of your interface)

       Status: Confirmed => Needs Info
