Public bug reported:
Affects: ept adept (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
Hello everybody,
I report this bug because I have read somewhere (in the system's
documentation or maybe on the net, I don't remember) that in Dapper,
adept would tell the user when it is necessary to reboot the computer or
restart X.
The update_notifier does this perfectly in Ubuntu (when there is a
kernel update or xorg update), but it seems not to work in Kubuntu
(Dapper) with adept.
I have observed this behavior several times, waiting for the
notification a few minutes after a kernel update and nothing happens. So
I think it does'nt work.
By the way, if this bug is confirmed, it would be nice that the notication tells the user how to restart the X session (Ctrl + Alt + Backspace), as new Linux users are not aware of that, but if it works like the update_notifier in Ubuntu, it's ok like this.
Anyway, however it works, it should be something easy for new users, that's what I mean.
