[Bug 38172] default kubuntu ksplash and kdm theme don't work with widescreens

Description:
With a widsreen monitor, the kdm theme and splash screen are designed
for a standard monitor and don't scale gracefully. Both are shown on the
left side of the screen and the strip of unused space on the right
renders a mix of images that seem to left on the head (that is probably
an issue of my driver, but nevertheless the unrender space is undefined)
