Summary: Can't install printer drivers from CD through KDE
                    printer manager
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kdeprint
        AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: chris at bluenoteweb.com
         QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

I have a Xerox Phaser connected to a Linksys wireless print server. To connect
to this setup, I use the "remote lpd queue" option in KPrintManager. Drivers
for this printer are not included in the standard distribution, so I downloaded
them from the internet and burned them to a CD.

>From the list of printer drivers, I choose "other", browse to the CD and select
the proper PPD file. When I continue through the rest of the dialogue
everything looks good until the end where I receive the error message
"client-error-not-found." The printer appears in the list of printers but the
test page fails.

If I copy the driver from the CD to my desktop, I can install it without trouble.
