In Hoary I managed to get quake 3 or enemy territory and TeamSpeak working with sound using the command:  
  
artsdsp -m <application>  
  
In Breezy I this command does not work as expected. Both Quake 3 and Enemy Territory exit with the message: 
 
------- sound initialization ------- 
Received signal 11, exiting... 
 
This are the versions of arts installed in my system: 1.4.3-0ubuntu1
