Does this really apply to guidance, or is guidance the fix itself?    
(If yes, please change subject to guidance/userconfig) 
   
1) I cannot reproduce the wrong userID (guidance's userconfig reads      
/etc/adduser.conf, and correctly uses ids above 1000). Adrien, did      
you change something there?     
     
2) The default groups can be changed, but I'm unsure whether this is wanted:     
 - You might want to add a new user for the purpose of finer-grained    
   permissions, not necessarily someone who's allowed to log in. (This is    
   more a question of policy, I'm happy to provide a patch if someone (Jonathan?)   
   can specify the default groups, though.
