I was using the http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu archive (US mirror?). Maybe
the problem is isolated to that mirror, but that seems unlikely. I will update
my sources.list and try again. I also had Backports and Marillat enabled, but
specifically avoided any packages from those repositories (I only install
packages with "ubuntu" in the version number - Backports uses "ubp" and Marillat
doesn't have a specific version identifier).
