I had tremendous problems which were similar. I also use a router and wired
network setup. I kept getting Unknown Host and eventually gave up and moved to
Ubuntu. I installed that at a friend's house with a DNS server and all worked
well with my wireless and wired card. Upon returning home I now find that the
Internet won't work properly again; it will lookup the host and connect to it,
but will sit at 'Waiting for google.com' indefinitely. Refreshing the package
list, which was fine there, now only downloads a couple of files before hanging.
However, Pings work fine and the connection seems to resolve, so it doesn't look
to me like a DNS issue. Any ideas??
My Ubuntu Hardware Submission ID was: ab4d55311e734d27f3679e60a3ba8604

Everything works fine in Windows XP and this router setup worked perfectly when
using Mandrake 10 on a previous machine.
