Summary: lo0 loopback device not activated by default
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: UNKNOWN
AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: kristian.jones at ntlworld.com
QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
Hi
I run a Dell Inspiron 1100 with kubuntu (kde 3.4.1) installed usin 686 kernel.
I performed an installation with option "server" and installed kubuntu-desktop
afterwards.
I noticed that for some reason kaffine was crashing when not connected to the
network.
When I checked the interfaces, lo0 was not present.
Fixed this by doing "ifconfig lo0 up" on the command line and making an entry in
/etc/network/interfaces to make the change permanent on reboot.
