Summary: 'New Root Shell' in Konsole does not use sudo
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: konsole
        AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: gdh at acentral.co.uk
         QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Very simply, the Session -> New Root Shell facility in Konsole asks for a password,
but entering the normal user's login password causes an Auth failure. I can only
assume if I had a root password set, this feature would work perfectly.
