The same problem:
I downloaded
http://cdimage.ubuntulinux.org/kubuntu/dvd/current/dapper-dvd-amd64.iso and
burnt it on a dvd (md5sum check was ok) - however I can't install the Kubuntu
6.0.4 on laptop Amilo A 1650. Here is a shot made with a digital camera (I
appologize for the bad quality), the Kubuntu's install died immediatly after
decompressing the kernel:

That's terrible end of all the waiting for the download and then the burning,
which I did even twice after first dvd did not work!
