Summary: OO file association fails in system:/home
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kdebase
        AssignedTo: jriddell at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: peter at hwtl.co.uk
         QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Using Breezy kubuntu and KDE 3.5 on
AMD K7 with SIS748 motherboard.
If you open system:/home by choosing Kmenu | System Menu and click on a .odt file, OO will start and die, failing to load the document.
If you open /home/peter (my home directory) from konqueror (using the navigation panel) OO starts normally when you click a .odt file.
I found that gvim and kate could open .odt files, but that OO and gedit could not open them. This suggests a failure, in these applications, to
translate the paths containing system:/home into the real path, /home/peter.
Note that bug 18396 recognised this problem on kde3.5 rc2, but it seems not to have been fixed for the full 3.5 release.
Although there are alternative ways to use OO file association there is an integration problem in issuing the system:/home facility without
ensuring it works with all applications.
