I just tried to install the new release Dapper Flight 2 and I've run into some
problem.
I downloaded the kubuntu cd from here
http://ftp.acc.umu.se/mirror/cdimage...pper/flight-2/
format one of my partitions and started install it. For some reason at the first
try cd splash didn't show up and the installation went fine ( asking for
configure my network cards:eth0 and eth1) until it failed on gstreamer0.8
package after the first reboot.
The second try was just trying to install Ubuntu flight 2 release..this time the
splash showed up but the installation stopped on dhcp configuration failure. I
tried some other iso's from different mirrors and the result was the same: dhcp
autoconfiguration failure.
I've got 2 network cards: Intel(R) PRO/100 - eth0 - e100 module in kernel -
which is connectected to my small home network
Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Adapter - eth1 - sk98lin module
in kernel - which is connected to an adsl modem to the internet.
I was thinking that the installer might get confused to choose the right eth to
configure dhcp and I tried harder in the GUI installer to find a way to set this
but I couldn't find anything which allows me to choose my card. Not even in the
expert mode installation I couldn't make it...
Just let me know if I have to file another bug report with gstreamer package
failure at installation.
