You can avoid this problem by editing the file /usr/lib/openoffice2/program/kde-open-url  and changing the line near the end from     
  sensible-browser $1      
to     
  sensible-browser $1 &      
      
When firefox opens a window, the process usually returns immediately, but konqueror keeps running.  You may want to change     
the /usr/lib/openoffice2/program/*open-url scripts as well to keep this bug from coming up again.     
   
The title of this bug should probably be changed to "oowriter hangs desktop when you click Get Help Online in kde"
