Kubuntu 5.04 LiveCD

Repeatable. On Asus A7N8X-X mb with nForce2 chipset, BIOS 1005 fitted with an
AMD Barton 2500+ and an LG CDRW/DVD Combo GCC4120B (which was used to cut the
booting CD-RW disk).

Initial boot into GRUB with Kubuntu splash. Boot prompt wants some input; hit
RETURN only.

Shows:

Loading /install/vmlinuz....

Boot failed. Disk error 80, AX=4280, drive 9F

is shown with a Press Any Key to Reboot ono message.

NB owning to the demands of the HD fitted (a WD 80g unit) the HD will only
operate as a slave. As a result the CDROM is the master i.e. /dev/hda with the
WD drive as /dev/hdb

This machine boots other distros with this IDE wiring.

The CD-RW disk used will boot (further) into Kubuntu on other hardware.
