Ubuntu (kubuntu) | mozilla-firefox
Summary: flash on amd64
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: amd64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: kubuntu
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: mozilla-firefox
AssignedTo: thom at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: alex_has_email at yahoo.com
QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
Now, I know Macromedia doesn't do 64bit flash, but I don't think kubuntu AMD64
has the possibility to get a browser going with flash even with some mild
tinkering on my side.
There must be some viable solutions to this, to make it somehow possible with
only a minor amount of work left to do? I've heard about installing 32bit
firefox or chrooting things (no clue as to what that means, but still) I
couldn't find anything like that in synaptic or on the wiki.
Basically, when my browser doesn't do flash, I get laughed at - "with your fancy
new 64bit pc, you don't even have flash?" !
(on a side-note, you'd imagine firefox would be installed by default! On kubuntu
perhaps even with a nice crystal/kde theme on it to make it look like the rest
of the desktop)
