Ubuntu (kubuntu) | control-center
Summary: Administrator mode not working
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Keywords: kubuntu
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: control-center
AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: awilisch at myrealbox.com
QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
Kubuntu release canidate
When going into control center, on sections that require user to enter
'administrator mode' to make changes such as for the Login Manager or Wireless
section, it prompts for ROOTS password, which doesn't work. Entering my users
password assuming it's using sudo like the rest of the distribution, it takes
the password, but then returns me to the main Control Center screen where it
displays the version of kde. Never puts me in administrator mode.
Have tried completely reinstalling kubuntu and have tried two different laptops.
The wireless section worked one time, not sure why. All other times anything
that prompts you to enter 'administrator mode' acts as I've listed above.
