Ubuntu (kubuntu) | libkdenetwork2
Summary: Internet connection (PPPoE) doesn't work in Kubuntu
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Keywords: kubuntu
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: libkdenetwork2
AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: rivanvx at fastmail.fm
QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I have VIA Rhine-based ethernet 10/100 card and Siemens SE515 ADSL modem/router.
In Ubuntu, I simply configure eth1 (because I also have another ethernet card
for LAN) connection to get assigned by DHCP and everything works (that is, I
enter Firefox and I can load any web address).
In Kubuntu, I configure the network, but I can't load anything other than my
router's configuration page. I tried almost anything I could think of, and
Konqueror always displays "Unknown host" or something similar.
I even tried disabling eth0, didn't help.
My gateway is 192.168.1.1 (address of my router) and the card selected on that
configuration page is eth1.
I suppose this belongs ot libkdenetwork2, but I'm not sure.
