It appears that half of the complaint is invalid as there was a 
cover-email (unfortunately held in SPAM by Google). The other part still 
hold: the patch should, like any upstream submission, contain a good 
description of what it does (like the cover email). Otherwise it will be 
a wild hunt each time one sees the patch in the repo.
