Partially it is probably part of changes which came with moving to
annotations and moving to yet another version scheme. And this is a bit
of my reservations against doing all those changes now and not by at
least the owner or the team owning it.
If we no longer understand the various models and how they are done
underneath we cannot do a proper job of maintaining those.
The lowlatency kernel at least started off as a same-port. And
apparently has mutated into something I do no longer know how it is
supposed to work. I would at least leave the rules.d pieces untouched.
The control.stub.in part is legit. I think there is now some code which
has those package info separate and only includes it for the main
kernels. So at least for the future that should no longer come back.
Could we for a starter just make that change and talk about the rest
before changing things?
