Hi Jens,

The linux-source packages, per its description, is intended to be used as:


 This package is mainly meant for other packages to use, in order to build
 custom flavours.


To build your own kernel, please download the source package (not the binary
sources) with something like this:

$ apt source linux-headers-$(uname -r)

E.g. for the latest linux-hwe-5.8 kernel:

$ apt source linux-headers-5.8.0-25-generic
