New firmware can always cause problems on systems where the firmware
will be used. For example, from your description I gather that without
the firmware graphics work but lack runtime PM. It's possible that
enabling PM could expose problems, or that the firmware has bugs which
will affect the user experience. Please update the SRU justificatoin on
the bug with more considerations of what kind of problems might occur as
a result of adding this firmware.
