== SRU Justification ==
Mainline commit ba9f93f82aba introduced this bug.  Commit ba9f93f82aba was cc'd 
to stable, so the bug is now in Xenial updates and Yakkety master-next(Introduced 
by the 4.8.17 updates).  The regression caused by this commit is now fixed 
by mainline commit 60f59ce02785, which was added to mainline in 4.10-rc4.

Precise, Vivid and Trusty did on recieve commit ba9f93f82aba, so this patch
is not needed in those releases.
