The backports seem to make sense to me and they are indeed very
similar to those in Debian.
Also, since one of these patches was actually tagged for stable, I'm
queuing both for the 3.16 stable kernel as well. (As there are no
more stable kernels affected, there's no need to send an email to the
stable mailing-list).
