the patches look ok, but i found another problem that predates this one:

http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/8177366/

the oops starts in the bridge code but is related to the JUMP_LABEL feature:

arch/Kconfig:

config JUMP_LABEL
       bool "Optimize very unlikely/likely branches"
       depends on HAVE_ARCH_JUMP_LABEL
       help
This option enables a transparent branch optimization that
makes certain almost-always-true or almost-always-false branch
conditions even cheaper to execute within the kernel.
...

and i'm wondering if it has anything to do with the hw that i'm testing
right now: cortex-a15, calxeda ecx-2000 midway in this specific case

I'm looking into it.
