As per

it appears that Ubuntu PPC 12.04 LTS needs commit 
4c374af5fdee4bc6b4f5ea96c1a0f0ad7d3566be applied to the kernel to 
re-enable wifi.

I was directed to contact the kernel-team for further information on how 
to build a kernel with this patch applied, in order to confirm that it 
fixes the bug reported in bug 1219368.
