[PATCH 0/2] Re-enable pstore for x86

Right now we've got CONFIG_PSTORE=n for x86 due to a strong suspicion
that writing crash dumps to EFI variables may be bricking some machines.
This forces us to also disable APEI, which depends on pstore.

These patches improve on the current situation. The first patch is a
cherry pick from Matt Fleming's efi/urgent branch which adds a config
option to for using efivars as a storage backend for pstore. The second
patch disables the new option and reverts the changes to turn off
