problem of laoding modules in ubuntu installed in vmware

Sir I wrote a hello world module and tried to load it in Ubuntu and
fedora(INSTALLED IN VMWARE) using insmod utility it was showing error:
invalid paramters ..
when I tried to load same module on same version of ubuntu but installed on
hard disk, everything went right. I checked my messages using dmesg
command..
sir I cannot install Ubuntu in my hard disk due to some hardware issues..
kindly help me out
