Nack, this can cause issues on Precise and Quantal probably, as
discussed on this thread (and pointed out on the freedesktop bug
comments mirrored on the LP bug):

there was this problem exposed by the change in i915, the patch only
got reapplied and went in 3.7. So unless it's figured out which and if
some changes are needed for Precise/Quantal to avoid the regression,
and if they are ok for the stables, I don't see a good thing applying
this.
