Hi and thanks for testing,
I think both you and and Colin got stung by the same PulseAudio bug,
which I was able to resolve this morning. I've pushed a new PulseAudio
version to the PPA, but it's not scheduled to build until tomorrow :-(
To confirm that the bug is actually fixed, you can either wait for this
build, or compile PulseAudio yourself, or make the following changes:
edit
/usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/hdmi-output-0.conf
/usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/hdmi-output-1.conf
/usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/hdmi-output-2.conf
/usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/hdmi-output-3.conf
For every one of the above files, change
name = HDMI/DisplayPort
to
description = HDMI / DisplayPort
in short, "s/name/description".
Please let me know your result of doing this. Thanks!
