but i can't see the debian.n900 you are referring, and that's a Linaro
tree (so i can't comment for them).

Exactly, which tree are you referring?

Anyway, at least in the Ubuntu world, different flavours get the same
ABI  (since they came out of the same tree and thus the same pile of
source code), while different branches have their own personal ABI
numbering.
