Debugging Suspend Hibernate Resume

I've now been looking at debugging suspend hibernate resume[1] and had
a couple of questions.

1) As a triager how can I tell if a reporter's battery ran out while
suspended?  (Other than asking them.)

2) As a triager how can I know if a reporter has encrypted swap in use?
Particularly is there some tell in dmesg or another log file the kernel
package hook collects?

3) I don't see any documentation regarding determining what is checked
for an image to resume from and think it may be helpful.
