== What was done engineering wise? ==

This past week the Ubuntu kernel team uploaded the 3.2.0-4.10
and 3.2.0-5.11 kernels. The most notable changes found in these uploads
are the rebase to upstream v3.2-rc5, set DEFAULT_MMAP_MIN_ADDR=32k on
arm, add veth and overlayfs to virtual flavor, disable dmar if ricoh
multifution is detected, and numerous config updates. The 3.2.0-5.11
kernel also dropped the custom patch which resolved LP:894768 in favor
of pulling the suggested upstream fixes.

We have a large number of work items targeted for the Alpha2 release, of
which 67% (56/83) appear completed.

== What's about to land that might impact the other teams? ==

As noted above, we uploaded the 3.2.0-5.11 kernel. Please test and let
us know your results.

The proposal to drop support for the i386 non-pae kernel was discussed
at Monday's Dec 12 Tech Board meeting. It was decided to keep the i386
non-pae flavor for the 12.04 LTS release and instead look to drop
support for it in 12.10. This will provide 5 more years of support for
users needing this kernel. As an intermediary step, the installer has
also been updated to default to the generic-pae kernel for i386.
