Thanks Acelan.  Please note the comment I'd posted to a similar bug
(same bug reporter) for Karmic:

As noted in that comment, I'm not going to just flip config options on
and off without proper justification for each option.  I do appreciate
the review and we've coincidentally already enabled some of the
requested config options in Maverick via other bug requests which had
proper justification.
