So we are saying we actually expect more up to date machines to not exhibit
this behaviour as they are actually fixed, that upstream code is much much
less likely to tickly this due to the mm rewrite, and we are assuming we
can use the kernel command line as a diagnostics aid for older kit.

Ok that seems reasonable to me.  Especially we many of us are using Atom
based kit on later releases without these issue.
