[PATCH] [Karmic] Tuner-related crash fixes

Hi kernel people,

The attached patches are backports from upstream to resolve a kernel 
oops that can halt the boot process with a variety of tuner cards. I 
just submitted these patches to stable at kernel.org, but I believe at this 
point they have to wait for 2.6.31.2. So I'm sending them here as well 
hoping for a faster route into the Karmic kernel.
