Actually, your patch is already upstream in Linus tree, 
bd3c200e6d5495343c91db66d2acf1853b57a141. The best way to help out not 
only Ubuntu, but other distros as well, is to forward the commit SHA1 to 
stable at kernel.org. Ubuntu will then pick it up in the normal course of 
stable updates.
