Integration request of VIA pata_via.c and sata_via.c which are already in mainline kernel - Resend

Hello Bruce,

I opened the following launchpad bug report for tracking and stable release 
update purposes:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/341118

The patches look like they might be applicable for inclusion into a stable 
release but need to go through the process.
