Thanks, Tim,
But the problem we met is we need to use updated driver CD to load VIA's specific storage driver during Ubuntu 9.04 installation.
The purpose is to let end users/cusstomers can install the OS with original Ubuntu 9.04 installation CD/DVD, not VIA's.

I'm not sure there is a way to avoid the built-in VIA SATA driver. You
can find all of the available module parameters by searching for
MODULE_PARM_DESC in drivers/ata. You may have to build your own kernel
with CONFIG_SATA_VIA=m.
