SATA errors, Ubuntu Hardy and kernel 2.6.24

Paul - the packages to which you refer are meta-packages and likely
reference the last kernel in each ABI series, e.g.,

https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/2.6.24-25.63
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/2.6.24-26.64

In order to be absolutely sure what you're running, please file a bug
using 'ubuntu-bug -p linux' (which I think is correct syntax for Hardy)
after having booted your most recent kernel, e.g., the one referenced by
'linux-image-generic 2.6.24.26.28'. It will also help if you boot the
other kernel and append the contents of /proc/version_signature.
