[pull request] Adapted config settings for non-x86 ports to match desktop spec (LP #279019)

Hi Stefan

I updated the configs for all the other archs. I did a test build for
powerpc but as usual not able to test the others. Note few more changes
required in the ia64 configs - I have no idea why this one was the odd
one out. See commit comment for detail.
