Hello Kernel-Team,
i installed Ubuntu 8.04 Server with the latest XEN-Kernel-Image
(vmlinuz-2.6.24-19-xen) and have problems with that. The system use a
software-raid as root /dev/md1. With the default kernel it boots without
problems. With the xen-kernel the boot process comes up to
md0 stopped
md1 stopped
{initramfs}
I checked the /etc/modules file:
raid0
raid1
raid10
raid456
multipath
linear
md_mod
and the initramfs /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-19-xen which have all modules
and the mdadm tool.
My menu.lst look ok, too:
title Xen 3.2 / Ubuntu 8.04.1, kernel 2.6.24-19-xen
root (hd0,0)
kernel /xen-3.2.gz
module /vmlinuz-2.6.24-19-xen root=/dev/md1 ro console=tty0
module /initrd.img-2.6.24-19-xen
Why cannot the xen-kernel boot from a md software-raid device?
Kind Regards
Philipp Michels
