VMware modules

Last week there seems to have been a bit of miscommunication on the irc
channel. I sent a link to a l-u-m patch on IRC for a sanity check. After
that, there was a bit of discussion about whether it was ok to include
it, and the conclusion was that it was ok.  I mistakenly thought that
meant that someone would apply the patch, and I've only just now noticed
that this is not the case. Is there any conceivable way this could get
included?
